Our air quality app aims to understand the unique needs and challenges of individuals when it comes to air quality.

User Persona

Have you meet Maria?

Maria is a hardworking office manager in her mid-thirties. She lives in a densely populated area in Los Angeles, where air quality is poor. She has asthma, which is exacerbated by the polluted air, causing anxiety, discomfort, social isolation, and loneliness. Maria’s favorite outdoor activity is walking in the park, but she often feels restricted due to her health condition.

User opens the app for the first time and is guided through a quick onboarding process, providing relevant information such as location and health conditions for personalized recommendations.

User is directed to the home screen that displays real-time air quality information for their location, including air quality index (AQI) and pollutant levels. Notifications regarding outdoor air quality are also shown.

She then explores the community support feature, finding relevant groups and forums to connect with others. In a group focused on asthma, Maria engages in discussions, asks questions, and shares her experiences. She also discovers the events section, offering both in-person and virtual activities for people with chronic health conditions. Maria registers for a virtual meetup in the following week. Additionally, she finds a section dedicated to indoor activities and resources promoting well-being and managing anxiety. AQI Gram air quality app is crafted to provide users with a holistic and empowering experience. Through thoughtful design and a user-centric approach, we aim to enhance the overall well-being and quality of life for our users.

Information Architecture

The information architecture of our air quality app is designed to provide users with a clear and organized structure, allowing them to easily navigate and access relevant information. The app’s information architecture categorizes content into intuitive sections, such as home screen, community support, events, indoor activities, and resources. Each section is carefully structured and labeled to ensure users can quickly find what they need.  Additionally, the app employs a hierarchical approach, prioritizing essential information like real-time air quality data and notifications, while providing deeper layers of content for further exploration. Through thoughtful information architecture, users can seamlessly navigate the app, find valuable insights, and take informed actions to improve their air quality awareness and overall well-being.

Welcome Screen:
  • A visually appealing welcome screen with the app logo and a captivating background image related to air quality or nature.
  • Clear and prominent call-to-action buttons for login and sign-up options.
  • Brief introductory text or carousel showcasing the app’s key features.
Dashboard:
  • A clean and organized dashboard featuring a user-friendly interface.

The lo-fidelity wireframe for the air quality app consists of the following key sections: Welcome screen, dashboard, location and scanning radius, air quality details, alerts and notifications, educational resources and settings.

Moodboard

We embrace a clean and minimalist design approach to communicate a sense of purity and simplicity. We considered incorporating elements from nature, such as subtle gradients, organic shapes, or natural textures, to evoke a sense of freshness and environmental connection. We moved forward with calming shades of blue, green, and earthy tones to reflect air quality and outdoor environments.
